Wedding Cake
Wedding Cake is a Hybrid with a slight Indica-dominance at 60% Indica/40% Sativa with a heritage that begins in Southern California. It was created by crossing the sweet and potent Cherry Pie and famed Girl Scout Cookies strain. This strain’s flavour and aroma proved that its backcrossed genetics mixed well and kept its lineage’s all-important sugary and tart qualities.
Appearance & Aroma
Its large and colourful flowers distinguish the Wedding Cake strain. The chunky, globular nuggets are a dense, Indica-typical bud structure, with tightly curled leaves. The leaves themselves are a soft green to brown with orange pistils threaded in between.
A large concentration of trichomes gives this strain its heightened THC levels and an incredibly sticky texture. Wedding Cake’s nugs are as aromatically impressive as they are visually striking. When well cured, they smell vegetal: mossy and damp with just a tinge of citrus. While grinding up or breaking apart, the buds give off notes of spicy sandalwood.
When lit in a joint or bong, Wedding Cake may be a bit harsh, stinging smokers’ throats or sinuses with its acrid smoke. It tastes rich and sweet upon exhale, with a notable creamy mouthfeel that some might compare to the taste of a delectable cake.
Effects & Benefits
Wedding Cake’s effects begin relatively quickly, beginning cerebrally. Users might find their thoughts more intense and might observe their surroundings more acutely. This change in thinking is accompanied by feelings of excitement or euphoria in the appropriate environment and setting.
Less than an hour into the high, Wedding Cake’s Indica qualities kick in. Increased warmth and a pleasant heaviness spread through the spine and limbs. Even amid this sedation, cerebral stimulation continues, allowing users to feel “tuned in” to their surroundings. Because this bud leaves users levelheaded and lucid, it can also help those with ADD, ADHD and other attention deficit disorders focus on specific tasks. Wedding Cake’s progressive waves of physical relaxation can ease both chronic and temporary aches and pains and, in high enough doses, can bring about relief for insomnia.
