Purple Urkle
The Purple Urkle strain is perhaps one of the most popular Indica strains around; however, its history is still mostly a mystery. We are aware that it has been around since the 1980s and was initially grown in the Emerald Triangle area of northern California (Humboldt County).
While most seasoned cannabis growers in the Emerald Triangle region are usually secretive about their strain hybrids and heredity, most growers think Purple Urkle was the offspring of either Granddaddy Purple or Mendocino Purps.
Appearance & Aroma
Its taste, effects and aroma are pretty consistent with most purple strains of weed when grown correctly. Purple Urkle has a skunky and sweet scent, usually including tropical fruit and berries. Like other heavy Indica flowers, its effects can be calm and relaxing, making it an excellent option for anxiety and insomnia. It is also utilized regularly as an appetite stimulant and for pain management.
Effects & Benefits
Due to its sedating properties, The Urkle is best reserved for late evening or nighttime use. It is regarded as a ‘two-hit-and-quit’ strain – meaning two hits is commonly enough to feel the full effects. With THC percentages well into the 20s, we recommend smaller doses to start, particularly for new users.
